Position: Project Manager / Estimator in New Castle

Own the full lifecycle of concrete, asphalt paving, and pavement maintenance projects across commercial, municipal, industrial, and residential work — from lead qualification, estimating, and proposals through planning, field execution, change orders, billing, and closeout. Perform accurate takeoffs and estimates; build budgets and schedules; coordinate crews, equipment, materials, trucking, and subcontractors; drive production, quality, safety, customer satisfaction, and profit targets.

Requirements
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain a DOT medical card.
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, details, and addenda.
  • Ability to plan ahead for upcoming projects and bids; strong time-management.
  • Ability to orchestrate crews and coordinate labor/equipment efficiently.
  • Ability to track and document work, bids, budgets, and progress.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literacy; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong mathematics and analytical skills.
  • Estimating Experience in the construction fields.
  • Ability to learn and use construction estimating, takeoff, and timekeeping software.
  • Understanding of construction practices (sitework, concrete, asphalt, maintenance).
  • Professional attitude, confidentiality, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Customer relations and conflict-resolution ability.

Key Responsibilities
- Estimating
  • Qualify incoming leads and RFQs; plan estimating schedule around priority and workload.
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for concrete (flatwork, curbs, footers, ADA ramps, walls), asphalt paving (patching, base/binder/wear, overlays), milling, crack sealing, seal coating, pavement marking and excavation/grading/drainage tie‑ins.
  • Build complete estimates: labor, equipment, trucking, materials, vendors, subcontractors using company production rates and industry norms.
  • Determine crew sizes, equipment lineup, and logical path to completion.
  • Identify constraints (access, utilities, traffic control, phasing, weather/seasonality).
  • Verify budgets cover labor burden, equipment costs, and overhead;
    Quality Control (QC) team bid reviews; maintain templates and historical cost data.
  • Client communication from RFQ → proposal → award/loss; prepare submittals for awarded projects.
