Early Childhood Teacher (CDA Required)
Position Summary
The Early Childhood Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. This role supports children’s growth across all developmental domains through engaging instruction, structured routines, and positive interactions. The teacher will implement curriculum aligned with early learning standards while maintaining compliance with licensing regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential (required)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a licensed childcare setting (preferred)
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Completion of Health & Safety Training and background clearance (OCCL compliant)
Core Responsibilities
Child Development & Instruction
- Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that support cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and language development
- Use approved curriculum (e.g., Abeka, TSG) to guide instruction
- Incorporate hands-on, play-based learning experiences
- Observe, assess, and document children’s progress regularly
Classroom Environment
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom aligned with ECERS standards
- Create engaging learning centers (literacy, math, dramatic play, sensory, etc.)
- Ensure proper supervision and adherence to child ratios at all times
Guidance & Behavior Management
- Implement positive behavior support strategies
- Model appropriate social skills and conflict resolution
- Establish consistent routines and clear expectations
Family Communication
- Build positive relationships with families
- Communicate daily updates through Brightwheel
- Participate in conferences and center events
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow all licensing (OCCL) regulations and center policies
- Ensure proper sanitation, diapering, and meal procedures
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident reports
Professional Responsibilities
- Attend required trainings and staff meetings
- Maintain CDA credential and pursue ongoing professional development
- Collaborate with team members and leadership to support program goals

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs

Work Schedule
- Monday–Friday, within operating hours (e.g., 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM)
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule as assigned
