Position: Special Education Teacher - New Castle, Delaware
Exciting opportunities are available for dedicated Special Education Teachers seeking to make a difference in elementary education. This contract position is located near New Castle, DE, within a supportive and collaborative school environment. The assignment runs from February to June, offering you the chance to guide and impact young learners with unique needs.

Key

Qualifications:
  • Active Delaware Special Education Teaching License is required
  • Experience or strong interest working with elementary-aged students, particularly those with Autism
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work with multidisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to maintaining a positive, inclusive classroom environment
  • Willingness to undergo CBC fingerprinting (candidate is responsible for associated cost)
  • Prepared to provide a PDF copy of teaching license and an updated resume as part of the application process
Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging and effective instructional plans for students receiving special education services, focusing on an elementary Autism caseload
  • Adapt general education curricula to meet individual learning needs and support student goals
  • Foster an encouraging, safe, and supportive classroom atmosphere
  • Collect data and monitor student progress, making adjustments to teaching methods as necessary
  • Communicate regularly with families, staff, and support services to ensure student success
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, IEP meetings, and professional development as required
As part of this rewarding opportunity, you'll work Monday through Friday, 8:25 AM to 3:55 PM, with a 30-minute paid lunch included in your 37.5-hour work week.
