Compensation$18.50 per hour or $20.50 per hour depending on classification
Work Year10 months – up to 30 hours per week
Position GoalTo support identified Multilingual Learners by providing direct English Language instruction and push‑in support during class time. Must be able to teach/serve students in person.
Minimum Requirements- Must have a Bachelor degree
- Multilingual Learner experience preferred
- Demonstrates sensitivity to issues impacting various cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups
- Shows evidence of knowledge regarding practices known to be effective with multilingual learners
- Demonstrates understanding and ability to perform job related tasks
- Acceptable Criminal Background Report and no entries on the Child Abuse Registry in Delaware
- Regular attendance is an essential function of the position
- Must be able to teach/serve students in person
- Provide individual and/or group English Language instruction to MLL students using ESOL strategies and the designated curriculum under the supervision and guidance of the MLL Specialist
- Provide push‑in support to identified MLLs during regular class time or enrichment/intervention
- Collaborate with teachers of MLL students on a regular basis in order to tutor and/or co‑teach MLL students in the regular classroom
- Adapt instructional materials as necessary to meet the needs of MLL students
- Comply with Federal, State, and Local Regulations and Policies
- Accurately complete all required paperwork within the designated timelines
- Utilize all available resources and materials (Employee Handbook, website, collaborative agreement, professional code of conduct, administrative procedures, school district board policies, etc.) to complete required paperwork, maintain professionalism, and avoid potential violations or noncompliance
- Cooperate with Federal, State, and Local Agency Personnel during alternative education and/or Special Education Compliance Monitoring and/or dispute Resolution activities
- Provide a positive role model of appropriate and respectful interactions with students and staff

The employee must perform repetitive stooping, twisting and bending, stand, walk, sit, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
