Overview
Waters Corporation is always looking to hire outstanding future talent for our company. The Systems and Mechanical Engineering team is looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer of our New Castle office at the TA Instruments business unit. This is a phenomenal opportunity to gain real-world experience while working at the world s leading specialty measurement company in the field of materials characterization.
Responsibilities- Be accountable for integration of mechanical system solutions including electrical and SW interfaces to meet end user needs
- Conceive and oversee test plans and drive success criteria for system testing to confirm requirements are met
- Work with stakeholders to ensure business and customer system requirements are met and are well defined
- Be able to develop concepts to meet the customer requirements
- Prototype concepts and designs, develop test plans, and communicate results and status clearly
- Participate and lead design reviews and provide feedback where appropriate in collaboration with multidisciplinary team
- Work with project and product management leads on technical ideation and risk retirement strategies and solutions
- Work closely with Engineers and cross-functional teams to develop product designs
- Communicate concerns/suggestions/improvements relating to engineering concerns and product life cycle management
- Propose and conduct simulations where relevant
- Have proven track record in prototyping and knowledge of electronics, coding and system integration needs for successful new product development process
- Drive definition of System reliability requirements
Education:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree, 5-10 years experience in a development environment
Experience:
- Prototype design, test and analysis
- Root cause analysis methodology
- Extensive experience with 3D modelling (Unigraphics / Solid Works / or Equivalent Tools)
- PDM and change process experience
- GD&T knowledge and experience
Skills:
- Adept at originating and interpreting engineering designs and concepts
- Strong interpersonal, communications and analytical skills
- Organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects
- Understanding of principles of physics and mechanical engineering disciplines (thermodynamics, structural mechanics and fluid dynamics principles)
- Experience of furnace and heater design, transducer design and operation, basic controls principles
- Strong Materials Science knowledge and familiar with testing principles and techniques
- Ability to work independently and in teams to design experiments & test plans, review designs and brainstorm ideas
- Statistical data analysis and presentation skills
- Well versed in simulation tools for mechanical and thermal problems, preferably Ansys/Matlab
- Proven Design for Manufacture experience assembly
- Hands on experience of fabrication/assembly techniques and working with machinists
