Introduction
CES Consulting Engineers Salzgitter GmbH is an independent consulting engineering company based in Braunschweig, Germany, with extensive international experience. CES provides integrated solutions for complex, multidisciplinary infrastructure projects across the civil engineering sector. Our services cover the full project cycle, from feasibility studies and design to construction supervision, cost control, capacity building, and institutional strengthening. CES primarily works in international development cooperation, implementing infrastructure projects for high-level public clients such as ministries and government authorities, funded by international donors.
To strengthen our Public Infrastructure Division in Braunschweig, we are seeking a Junior Architect / Civil Engineer (m/f/d) to join our international team.
This position offers an excellent entry point into international development cooperation through hands-on work on public infrastructure projects in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Duties and Responsibilities- Support the Project Director and project teams in the Public Infrastructure Division
- Contribute to the implementation and technical development of ongoing projects
- Conduct site surveys, collect site data and user requirements, and support stakeholder engagement
- Prepare, adapt, and review architectural designs (conceptual and detailed) in line with client requirements
- Draft, revise, and review technical documentation
- Assist in monitoring project progress within multidisciplinary and international teams
- Support field teams in project planning and implementation activities
- Qualification:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering
- Strong interest in working in international and intercultural environments
- Basic knowledge of designing public infrastructure such as schools, health centers, and markets is an asset
- Interest in sustainable and energy-efficient design approaches
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently while being accountable within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent command of English; knowledge of French or Portuguese is a strong asset;
German is a plus - Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, Revit); BIM knowledge is an advantage
- Good command of Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Willingness to travel internationally and undertake mid and short-term assignments abroad
- Initial professional experience is an asset but not required
