Personal Financial Counselor, PFC - Castle, DE

Job Summary

Personal Financial Counselor (PFC) at military installations. Provide full breadth of financial counseling, education, and related services to service members and families.

• Deliver one‑on‑one counseling, briefings, presentations, and referrals.
• Work with installation and branch points of contact to ensure program scope and needs.
• Assist service members with spending plans for extended absences.
• Develop and distribute financial materials.
• Coordinate, publicize, and facilitate Personal Financial Management classes and workshops across the military life cycle.
• Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
• Provide virtual counseling via secure online chat or video when authorized.
• Manage duty‑to‑warn situations per DoD protocol.
• Communicate trends and issues with leadership and participate in supervision.
• Participate in in‑services, training, quality‑improvement committees, and contract activities.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree required (associate degree + 4yrs experience or high school diploma + 6yrs experience may be considered).
• Minimum of 3years financial counseling experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English; bilingual in English/Spanish may be required.
• Must obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier2 investigation and pass the OCI process.
• Required certifications:
  Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

New Castle, Delaware. Annual salary range: $58,440 – $93,500.
