The Loan Documentation & Processing Senior Analyst is a seasoned professional role that applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge to develop new techniques and improve processes in the loan documentation area. The role integrates subject matter expertise within a defined area and supports the objectives of the overall business through evaluated, complex problem solving.
Responsibilities- Prepare and review loan documentation while supporting a variety of tasks related to the loan process, including independently processing and closing loans in a complex loans operation environment.
- Integrate subject matter and industry expertise within the loans documentation area.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of how the loan function collectively integrates to contribute to achieving overall business goals.
- Provide value‑added perspective or advice that contributes to the development of new techniques and improvement of loan documentation processes.
- Apply in‑depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within the area to resolve issues related to loan documentation processes.
- Escalate control gaps and issues to senior management; identify loan‑related control deficiencies and implement appropriate procedures and solutions to mitigate risk or control losses.
- Resolve complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires in‑depth evaluation of loan procedures and industry standards.
- Provide evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated, unique situations, most often within the loan documentation process.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency and reduce expenses.
- Influence decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitation of services to others in the area of specialization.
- Assume informal or formal leadership role within the team, coach and train new recruits, and provide guidance and support to junior staff.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, management, internal and external clients and stakeholders, understanding their needs and providing solutions.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation, safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
- 3–5 years of experience.
- Sound knowledge of financial products, accounting principles and practices.
- High degree of numeracy and an analytical approach to tasks and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to understand complex data and condense it into key themes.
- Bachelor’s or university degree or equivalent experience.
