Driver - Delivery Technician - Castle, DE

Job Summary

The Delivery Technician is responsible for delivering durable medical equipment to Apria patients in the home. The anticipated salary range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00 hourly; compensation may vary based on experience, skills, education, and location.

• Pulls, packs, delivers, and picks up medications, supplies, and basic equipment.
• Instructs patients on the basic use of respiratory therapy equipment, durable medical equipment, oxygen equipment, and other equipment/services approved by state licensure limitations.
• Loads and unloads durable medical and infusion equipment onto the delivery vehicle.
• Responds to emergency delivery calls during regular business hours and on an on‑call basis.
• Completes necessary paperwork, including daily delivery logs, pick‑up and delivery forms, and vehicle maintenance logs; distributes paperwork to appropriate personnel.
• Makes a maintain supply component of patient profiles.
• Notifies supervisor if any of the following is discovered in the patient’s home:
• Physical abuse of any family member.
• Home environment unsafe for the care ordered, such as unsanitary conditions or insufficient food for children.
• Animals in the home that cause unsanitary conditions.
• Cleans and assists with the repair of equipment.
• Performs routine vehicle maintenance, including checking gasoline, oil fluids, tire pressure, and brakes.
• Reports malfunctions to supervisor.
• Performs other duties as required.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of related experience.
• Minimum age of 21 years or older at hire.
• Minimum of three years driving history.

• Successful completion of Apria Healthcare’s Driver Training Program.
• Compliance with D.O.T., F.D.A. and accrediting body standards.

English (reading, writing, verbal).

Hands used to feel, handle, write, operate computer, motor vehicle, and hand‑held devices; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch; talk or hear. Regular use of close and distance vision; regularly read, write, and transcribe documents. Requires frequent variations between sitting, walking, standing, kneeling, reaching or stooping.

• Stand and lift objects 1” to 36” high weighing 10 lbs – 100 lbs; carry for distances 1 ft – 350 ft, including stairs and elevators.
• Push or pull objects weighing 20 lbs – 60 lbs, through doorways and thresholds, with dollies or carts; distances up to 25 ft.
• Grip objects with hands up to 15 lbs of force and with fingers up to 10 lbs of force.
• Climb up to 100 stairs and ladders up to 10’ high; step in and out of vehicles up to 20”; frequently bend, reach, kneel or squat as needed.
