Domestic Sourcing Specialist – North America

The Domestic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing supplier relationships throughout North America to support the company's procurement, cost, quality, and supply chain objectives. This role will focus on sourcing components, finished goods, packaging materials, and value-added services from suppliers located in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The ideal candidate possesses strong supplier management, negotiation, and project management skills, with experience in manufacturing, consumer products, home improvement products, or bathroom accessories.

Key Responsibilities Supplier Identification & Development
  • Identify and qualify new domestic suppliers across North America.
  • Conduct supplier assessments, capability reviews, and risk evaluations.
  • Develop strategic supplier partnerships to improve cost competitiveness and supply reliability.
  • Maintain a robust supplier pipeline to support business growth and risk mitigation.
Strategic Sourcing
  • Lead RFQ, and supplier selection processes.
  • Analyze supplier quotations and total landed cost models.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, tooling investments, and service agreements.
  • Support supplier consolidation and sourcing optimization initiatives.
  • Manage supplier performance related to quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with key suppliers.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on continuous improvement and cost reduction projects.
  • Resolve supply issues and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Product Development, Engineering, Quality, Operations, Logistics, and Sales teams.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and product transfer projects.
  • Ensure sourcing strategies align with customer requirements and operational objectives.
  • Participate in value engineering and cost-reduction initiatives.
Cost Management
  • Monitor commodity and market trends affecting material costs.
  • Develop and execute annual cost savings programs.
  • Analyze spend data and identify sourcing opportunities.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Quality & Compliance
  • Partner with Quality teams to ensure suppliers meet company standards.
  • Support supplier audits and corrective action programs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Monitor supplier certifications and quality system performance.
Supply Chain Risk Management
  • Develop contingency plans for critical suppliers and materials.
  • Monitor supplier capacity, financial stability, and operational risks.
  • Support business continuity planning and supply assurance initiatives.
  • Evaluate nearshoring and reshoring opportunities to improve supply chain resilience.
Qualifications
  • 3–7 years of sourcing, procurement, or supply chain experience.
  • Experience sourcing within the United States, Canada, and/or Mexico.
  • Background in consumer products, home improvement products, hardware, bathroom accessories, plastics, metal fabrication, or related industries preferred.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers and component suppliers.
  • Strong supplier negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Knowledge of sourcing methodologies and procurement best practices.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes including metal fabrication, injection molding, stamping, die casting, and assembly operations.
  • Strong analytical and cost modeling capabilities.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPSM, CPM, or APICS certification.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and supplier development.
  • Knowledge of USMCA trade regulations and North American supply chain networks.
