Assistant Director Office of Business Taxes

The Assistant Director of the Office of Business Taxes reports to the Director of Revenue and provides leadership over approximately 60 employees across the Corporate and Business Audit and Personal Income Tax Audit programs. The role develops audit strategies, performance goals, and enforcement objectives while managing an operational budget exceeding $7.5 million and overseeing external audit vendor contracts. Key responsibilities include recruiting and training staff, developing tax compliance policies, evaluating processing systems, providing technical guidance on tax matters, and conducting conferences with taxpayers on complex cases.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Business Management, Computer Information Systems, or related field
• Three years of experience auditing business tax returns in accordance with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards
• Three years of experience managing business tax processing, auditing, and enforcement activities under federal or Delaware tax laws
• Three years of experience managing information systems
• Three years of experience in operations management directing subordinate supervisors
• Knowledge of budget administration including developing, analyzing, and implementing budgets
