The Commercial Painter role at Eastern Industrial Services, Inc. is a full‑time, on‑site position based in New Castle, DE. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming; applying paints, coatings, and sealants using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment; and ensuring finishes meet company quality and safety standards. The Commercial Painter reads and interprets job specifications, may work from architectural drawings, and collaborates with supervisors and team members to plan and complete projects on schedule.
The role also involves maintaining tools and equipment, following all safety protocols and PPE requirements, and performing touch‑ups and repairs as needed on industrial and commercial structures.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Painting and Paint application techniques in commercial or industrial environments.
- Experience with Spray Painting and related equipment, including proper setup, operation, and cleaning.
- Ability to understand and work from Architectural Drawings or project specifications to complete painting tasks accurately.
- Basic Carpentry skills to assist with surface preparation, minor repairs, and installation of materials related to painting projects.
- Knowledge of surface preparation methods, coating systems, and proper use of primers and sealants.
- Commitment to workplace safety, including adherence to OSHA guidelines and use of appropriate PPE.
- Ability to work at heights, in varying environmental conditions, and to lift and carry materials and equipment as required.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience in industrial or commercial painting; trade or vocational training is a plus.
