Truck Tire Mechanic

The Truck Tire Mechanic is a truck tire technician to install, inspect, repair, and replace commercial truck tires. The right candidate is mechanically inclined, works well with a team, and takes pride in doing quality work safely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, remove, repair, replace, balance, and rotate commercial truck tires.
  • Inspect tires and wheels for wear, damage, and proper fit.
  • Operate tire machines and other shop equipment.
  • Remove and install tires by hand when needed.
  • Safely lift, move, and handle commercial truck tires.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles.
  • Document work completed and parts used.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Report unsafe conditions or equipment problems.
  • Complete required safety and technical training.
  • Help other Technicians with technical questions and service needs when needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools and tire service equipment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality work.

Preferred:

  • 1+ year of tire, automotive, fleet, or mechanical experience.
  • Commercial truck tire experience.
  • TIA (Tire Industry Association) certification.
  • Experience operating tire-changing or balancing equipment.

Physical & Work Environment

  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and squatting.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, rolling, and positioning commercial truck tires.
  • Working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Working around commercial vehicles, machinery, compressed air, and other equipment.
  • Using hand tools and tire service equipment safely.
