JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Delivery Driver/Warehouse assistant

Dept: Warehouse

A Delivery Driver/Warehouse assistant is an integral part of the Action Team, helping the team deliver truly remarkable customer experiences through shipping, receiving and warehousing operations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prompt daily attendance at assigned work location. (New Castle, DE)
  • Clean and maintain warehouse and trucks as necessary.
  • Provide excellent service with a smile to customers.
  • Unload & load freight off/on trucks; lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes and weights (up to 50 lbs frequently and greater than 75 lbs occasionally); safely operate heavy equipment; safely climb in and out of cab and trailer; safely walk and stand for extended periods of time on various surfaces that may be uneven or slippery; operate a truck in all types of weather while safely transporting hazardous/non-hazardous materials;

    and safely walk, reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat & kneel as necessary to perform the job duties.
  • Delivery territories include but are not limited to DE, MD, PA, and NJ
  • Ability to push/pull 2650 lbs using mechanical aids such as hand trucks, hydraulic lifts, and barrel dollies.
  • Check incoming merchandise and restock inventory.
  • Pick and pack merchandise for customer pickup and deliveries.
  • Utilize computers for communication, shipping/receiving and inventory management.
  • Perform vehicle inspections required under section 396.13 of the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations.
  • Operate and maintain records in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR), Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). and company policies as required.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to the vehicles.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid Medical Examination Certificate in accordance with Motor Carrier Safety.
  • TWIC card is a plus.
  • Licensed driver for at least 3 years.
  • Safe driving record and history verified via MVR with signed release form.
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of work and educational experience.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Applicant must be able to read, write, and speak English. The ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
  • Basic math skills a must.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Electric pallet jack, stacker, and forklift experience preferred.
  • Pass DOT drug test and have no prior positive tests or refusals.
  • Pass a DOT physical.
