Mission Hires is partnering with a manufacturing client in New Castle, PA to hire a Plant Engineer to lead facility installations, upgrades, utilities/physical plant projects, and environmental compliance. This role owns capital projects end-to-end—scoping, budgeting, bidding, execution, and commissioning—while collaborating across operations to improve reliability, safety, and sustainability. No remote; occasional local/international travel.
Responsibilities- Lead design and execution of installation projects and equipment modifications across the facility
- Manage engineering work for utilities, physical plant systems, and site/grounds improvements
- Serve as primary contact for environmental matters; ensure compliance with EPA and DEP regulations
- Plan, budget, and oversee complex capital projects from feasibility through completion
- Develop bid specifications, evaluate proposals, and negotiate vendor and contractor contracts
- Provide cross-functional engineering support to enhance productivity and operational reliability
- Conduct environmental testing, reporting, and audits for ongoing compliance
- Partner with senior leadership on process improvements and technology initiatives
- Coordinate with contractors and regulatory agencies; maintain quality, safety, scope, schedule, and cost
- Perform other related duties; support occasional local or international travel
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 5–7 years of engineering experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments
- Proven success managing capital projects end-to-end (scope, budget, schedule, execution, commissioning)
- Working knowledge of environmental compliance and reporting (EPA, DEP)
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Collaborative mindset, strong work ethic, and commitment to continuous improvement
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed
- Ability to coordinate contractors and interface with regulatory agencies
- Eligible to work onsite in New Castle, PA (no remote)
