Structural​/Civil Engineer

• Interpret customer requirements by reviewing specifications, sales documents, and project drawings; ensure design requirements match proposals and contract documents.
• Perform analysis and design of the structural framework for the company’s product line of specialty doors.
• Coordinate all work with the Mechanical Engineer to incorporate structural, mechanical, and electrical systems into the design.
• Assist the Manager of Engineering in managing and coordinating the work of draftsmen and detailers to produce complete, accurate work in accordance with the project schedule.
• Resolve problems in areas under your control that impact schedule, accuracy, and completeness.
• Provide assistance to Sales and Estimating Departments as needed to generate timely responses to sales and proposal requirements.
• Coordinate with manufacturing to ensure proper flow of work through the plant.
• Coordinate with installation operations to maximize efficiency of equipment and personnel, emphasizing quality and safety.
• Work with management to achieve maximum efficiency in all areas.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience with project management principles within civil or structural engineering environments.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor for drafting and documentation purposes.
• Strong knowledge of system design.
• Excellent technical writing skills for preparing detailed reports and project documentation.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail in a fast‑paced setting.

• Minimum Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering and licensure as a Registered Professional Engineer.
• Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience; must have a PE license or be able to obtain it within one year.
• Preferred background in the design of dynamic steel structures (e.g., bridge cranes or similar structures) with a working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Background in manufacturing, planning, scheduling, and construction in a company with similar products and operational methods is preferred.
• Significant additional experience can substitute for some educational achievement.
