Position Summary

CMI Upstate is seeking a Parts & Maintenance Technician with strong truck mechanic experience to support our operations and fleet maintenance activities. This hands‑on role is responsible for ensuring our equipment, trucks, and yard assets are properly maintained, and that parts inventory and procurement are efficiently managed.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repairs:

• Inspect, diagnose, and perform minor to moderate repairs on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
• Support the maintenance team with scheduled preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Ensure all repairs meet safety and compliance standards.

Parts & Inventory Management:

• Source and order parts, materials, and supplies from approved vendors.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory, warranties, and usage.
• Track and control parts costs and ensure timely replenishment.
• Develop relationships with suppliers to secure cost‑effective and reliable parts procurement.

Administrative & Coordination Duties:

• Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and service records in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
• Assist with scheduling and coordinating equipment downtime to minimize operational disruption.
• Communicate with drivers and supervisors about vehicle conditions, repair status, and parts availability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Truck or Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Maintenance Technician, or similar role.
• Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, brakes, and electrical systems.
• Proven experience in parts ordering, inventory control, and vendor management.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders.
• Basic computer literacy for record‑keeping and parts management.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Safety‑focused mindset with a commitment to following company and legislative safety standards.
