- Participate in facility safety and environmental meetings, including Safety Committee meetings, Accident Investigations, and TPM and Kaizen events.
- Conduct assessments of current processes to identify or target problem areas, including development of Job Safety Analyses.
- Develop and implement process improvements and conduct necessary training to affected employees.
- Keep affected employees abreast of OSHA and EPA requirements and changes.
- Gather statistical information and present to Plant Management and others via reports or presentations.
- Work with engineers or outside vendors during installation of new equipment to ensure safety and environmental features and procedures are in place and understood.
- Document improvements using lean tools such as Waste Elimination Improvement forms.
- Complete required audits and reports related to safety and environmental compliance, working directly with company Safety and Environmental Engineers as required.
- Conduct follow‑up studies to ensure that new process improvements are working and being followed.
- Coordinate management and shipments of hazardous materials.
- Coordinate projects including TPM and Kaizen events.
- Bachelor’s Degree relating to Occupational Safety, Environmental Management or a similar field.
- Certification in Environmental Compliance (CECM) or related experience.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify hazards.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to design and implement effective training programs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience in manufacturing and safety.
