Overview
Payroll (60%):
The General Accountant/Payroll is responsible for all payroll related duties including closing payroll, processing weekly and bi-weekly payroll and interim checks, emailing various payroll reports, payroll related duties such as: posting payroll to the General Ledger, uploading files for worker’s compensation payment, auditing payroll tax payments, payroll accruals, payroll change report, and inputting PTO forms. Handle the review of various payroll and benefit related accruals.
Work closely with managers and the HR coordinators on individual payroll issues.
Accounting (40%):
The General Accountant/Payroll position is also responsible for non-payroll accounting related duties to support and backup the other accounting department team members, including but not limited to Accounts Payable, cash handling and other tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE:
Associate degree preferred and/or relevant experience or a combination of education and experience. Understanding of the accounting cycle. A solid working knowledge of Microsoft products, including strong working knowledge of excel.
LANGUAGE
SKILLS:
Ability to read, write and present business materials.
MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS:
Ability to apply basic math skills along with calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to review reports and spreadsheets. Strong bookkeeping skills. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret procedural guidelines, write correspondence, and to speak effectively.
