Controller, Accounting, Financial Compliance

We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations of a Critical Access Hospital
. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, budgeting support, payroll, accounts payable, regulatory compliance, and audit coordination while ensuring the organization's financial integrity and operational excellence.

• Oversee accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, and accounting operations.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reports.
• Coordinate annual audits and regulatory reporting.
• Assist with operating and capital budget preparation.
• Oversee Medicare Cost Reports, DSH audits, and IRS Form 990 filings.
• Monitor financial performance, conduct variance analysis, and support forecasting.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, healthcare regulations, and internal controls.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff.
  
  Partner with leadership to improve financial and operational performance.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting.
• Experience with audits and regulatory reporting.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Controller or Assistant Controller experience in a hospital setting.
• Critical Access Hospital experience.
• Experience preparing Medicare Cost Reports, DSH audits, and Form 990 filings.
