Overview
The primary objective of this position is to provide service for the day-to-day operations of the Mail & Copy Center and the college store. Provides great customer service to students, NEC employees, and outside vendors. This position will also have responsibilities to answer the main phone lines, answer general questions by the caller, and transfer calls to the appropriate departments. The position is a full-time non-exempt with occasional nights and weekends during priority events such as student move-in, commencement, admitted student days, and visit days.
Responsibilities- Building positive and responsive relationships with the campus community, including students, administration, athletics, faculty, and staff.
- Sorting and distribution of mail;
- Administrative support to Mail & Copy Center Supervisor. Update and maintain student combination list;
- Manage postage charge billing. Maintain electronic spreadsheet for postage charge backs to departments;
- Operation of various machines, including Postage Meter, Fax, Folder/Inserter, Neo-Track, Copiers, Cash Register;
- Answer College main phone line, answer general questions, and transfer calls to appropriate departments;
- Assists with and executes detailed store operating plans;
- Providing exemplary customer service and directly assisting customers;
- Operating the point-of-sale system and processing sales;
- Merchandising following established guidelines;
- Associate’s Degree in Business or related field preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered for those with extensive relevant retail experience.
- Two years of customer service experience or other clearly relevant retail experience.
- Answering busy phone system.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift 25 to 50 lbs.
