Job Overview
The Sr. Operations Support Specialist works in the Facilities Control Center (FCC) to support customers, field technicians, managers, and contractors. With independent judgment, problem‑solving skills, and initiative, this role coordinates daily work, fills in for the FCC Manager, and manages the IWMS system.
Responsibilities- Customer Service (40%)
Provide various services to customers, including receiving requests via phone, email, self‑service system, and in person; generate reports; handle inquiries; coordinate scheduled work; process all requests in IWMS; troubleshoot using data history; monitor building automation systems; ensure accurate billing; maintain compliance records; communicate emergency events; prepare materials for seasonal changes; operate office equipment.
- Coordination (10%)
Coordinate work with outside vendors and contractors; maintain after‑hour emergency recall procedures; report after‑hour events; maintain appointment schedules; coordinate seasonal events; support department finances; manage timing of work with minimal customer impact.
- Senior Tasks and Supervision (50%)
Track assets in IWMS; assign preventive maintenance; manage schedule and workload; support all members with IWMS system; train and onboard new team members; process state agency reports; prepare reports, summaries, or replies; audit communications; coordinate bi‑yearly surveys.
- Minimum Acceptable
Education & Experience:
Associate's degree and 3 years of computer‑related experience, or equivalent education and experience totaling 5 years. - Supervisory skills, including instructing and directing work of others.
- Ability to read and interpret input forms and printouts.
- Typing and computer application skills: spreadsheets, word processing, email, browser software, data entry/retrieval/management, and knowledge of software applications.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Organizational, analytical, problem‑solving, complex thinking and customer service skills.
- Independent decision making under pressure.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the general public with varying degrees of comfortability with technology.
- Knowledge of Facilities Operations in a college/university environment.
- Experience in office management and coordinating emergency response.
- Advanced computer skills.
- Knowledge of USNH computing and telephone systems and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Workday, U-Shop and Asset Works preferred.
Pay Range: $17.57 - $28.96 per hour.
