Lacewood Group Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a detail-driven construction professional who excels in developing accurate estimates and supporting projects from preconstruction through contract preparation. You will analyze drawings, prepare bids, evaluate subcontractor proposals, and help drive successful project outcomes. Prepare preliminary budget estimates for commercial and residential projects.
Review blueprints, specifications, and bid documents to produce accurate cost estimates.
Perform quantity takeoffs and develop detailed scopes of work.
Prepare design-build, hard-bid lump sum, and competitive bid proposals.
Develop and maintain subcontractor and vendor relationships to support accurate pricing.
Prepare and issue subcontractor RFPs and bid invitations.
Solicit, analyze, and evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids.
Assist with project buyout and budget verification.
Maintain organized subcontractor/vendor databases and cost histories.
Update and manage the company’s cost database for future estimating accuracy.
Qualifications5+ years of commercial and/or residential construction estimating experience.
Proficiency with estimating software and spreadsheet applications.
Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
