Description
We are seeking a hands-on Construction Engineer to support commercial construction projects within an active operating environment.
Shift: Monday-Friday, day shift
Key Responsibilities
- Support construction projects from framing through final finishes
- Perform or assist with hands-on construction activities, including:
- Framing
- Carpentry and trim work
- Drywall installation and finishing
- Small concrete work and basic formwork
- CMU installation and repair
- Assist with layout, field verification, and review of construction drawings
- Coordinate day-to-day field activities with subcontractors and internal teams
- Monitor work for quality, safety, and schedule compliance
- Identify field issues and help resolve them
- Support enforcement of OSHA and site-specific safety requirements
- Operate or coordinate tools and equipment required for assigned tasks
- Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas, including within active or occupied facilities
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work safely in an active construction environment
- Willingness to perform hands-on field work as part of a construction team
- Basic ability to read and follow construction drawings, instructions, and direction
- OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain within a defined onboarding period)
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in commercial construction or renovation work
- Exposure to frame-to-finish construction activities
- Experience in one or more of the following trades:
- Framing
- Drywall and finishing
- Carpentry or trim work
- Concrete or CMU work
- Experience working in active, occupied, or operational facilities
- Background as a lead carpenter, foreman, or field supervisor
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation or coordination
- Construction, engineering, or technical education (degree not required)
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
- Interest in growing into increased field or project responsibility
- Ability to work in active construction environments
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and work in varying site conditions
- Ability to safely work at heights, in accordance with applicable safety standards
