About this Role – Construction ManagerWe are looking for a talented Construction Manager who has a passion for quality construction. This position oversees utility and civil construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout. Acting as a critical link between management and field operations, the Construction Manager provides leadership, coordination, oversight, and support to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements and client expectations.
What You’ll DoPreconstruction & Planning
- Review project drawings, specifications, and designs for constructability, identifying conflicts, risks, and construction challenges before work begins.
- Participate in project planning meetings and constructability reviews, recommending improvements to field execution while maintaining project requirements.
- Assist in developing cost estimates and production units, and prepare subcontractor Request for Proposal (RFP) packages.
- Collaborate with estimating and project management teams to develop and refine project budgets; monitor costs and flag potential risks.
- Develop detailed project schedules and construction work plans with the Superintendent and PM, coordinating sequencing to maximize productivity and minimize delays.
- Monitor schedule and cost performance and recommend corrective action when necessary.
- Verify Bill of Material (BOM) against project drawings and specifications, and coordinate with procurement to ensure accurate ordering.
- Track material deliveries, confirm quantities, and report discrepancies to keep required materials on-site ahead of scheduled installation activities.
- Serve as the central point of coordination among the project team, client representatives, subcontractors, and field operations, including subcontractor onboarding, qualification, scheduling, and performance monitoring.
- Act as primary liaison to owner representatives, ensuring timely communication of project updates, issues, and schedule changes.
- Coordinate project meetings and documentation, and build strong working relationships with clients, municipalities, and inspectors.
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly progress, cost, schedule, and material usage reports to support project planning and performance analysis.
- Support change order development, punch-list completion, turnover packages, and client handoff documentation.
- Reduce administrative workload on General Foremen and Superintendents so they can focus on field execution.
- Promote a culture of safety and quality throughout the project lifecycle - including a see something, say something mindset - and enforce company, client, OSHA, and site-specific safety requirements.
