The Associate Digital Editor supports the development, management, and quality of digital content across This role contributes to maintaining a high-performing digital content experience by ensuring content is accurate, consistent, well-structured, and aligned with editorial and audience standards.
Working within a large, high-volume, and evolving digital content library, this position plays a key role in day-to-day content operations. The role supports ongoing content updates, organization, and optimization to meet business, editorial, and user needs in a fast-paced, search-driven environment.
This role is designed for editors in the early stages of their careers who are building expertise in digital editorial practices, content operations, and search-informed content strategies. Scope and title may vary based on experience.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES- Execute and support the ongoing management of digital content across platforms, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality standards are met
- Carry out recurring editorial workflows, including content selection, formatting, and publishing within established systems and processes
- Review and maintain content at scale to ensure it remains current, functional, and aligned with editorial guidelines and seasonal or business priorities
- Organize and structure content through tagging, categorization, and metadata practices to support usability and discoverability
- Participate in large-scale content updates and site-wide improvements to enhance consistency, structure, and user experience
- Identify and help resolve content issues, including inaccuracies, outdated information, and technical inconsistencies
- Contribute to content enhancements that improve readability, engagement, and search performance
- Collaborate with editorial, social, and cross-functional teams to support content priorities and distribution efforts
- Maintain digital assets, including text, images, and links, to ensure content integrity and presentation quality
- Work across a large content library, contributing to updates and improvements across thousands of pages
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in English, journalism, communications, or a related field
- 2–4 years of experience in digital content, editorial, publishing, or a related area
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to content accuracy and quality
- Familiarity with content management systems and digital publishing workflows
- Working knowledge of SEO and search-driven content practices, with demonstrated ability to apply optimization principles in a digital publishing environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage recurring responsibilities and shifting priorities
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Interest in Almanac content areas (e.g., gardening, weather, astronomy, lifestyle topics)
- Awareness of evolving digital publishing trends, including changes in search and AI-driven content
