Goodhue Boat Company is growing, and we are looking for smart, motivated, and dedicated people to join the team! Our Ossipee Lake marina has an immediate opening for Full-Time and Seasonal Part-Time Marine Service Advisor.
Our service department specializes in the maintenance, repair, and detailing of most makes and models of boats. As a Marine Service Advisor for our company, you will ensure that customers receive prompt, courteous and effective service.
Job Summary:Marine Service Advisors will report to the Service Manager and assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Service department and ensuring our customers receive prompt, courteous and effective service. In this position, you will be part of a team that specializes in the maintenance, repair, and detailing of most makes and models of boats.
Duties/Responsibilities:- Communicate with customers in a professional manner to gather all the information necessary to create an accurate estimate.
- Consult and sell services that are applicable to the type of boat and customer’s needs.
- Provide customers with a schedule of work, updates, and any changes that may occur.
- Coordinate with customers on transportation of their boat.
- Communicate with technicians to inform customers of the best remedies to properly repair their vessel.
- Locate, order, and input parts for customer units based on technicians' notes and diagnosis.
- Finalize and invoice work orders.
- Ensure each customer has a positive service experience.
- Spend quality time building a relationship with the customer.
- Follow up after work is complete.
- Other duties as needed.
- A minimum of 2 years marine service writer experience, preferred
- Excellent customer service and phone skills are a must.
- Must have superior selling skills and knowledge of how to cross-sell products and services.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem solving skills.
- Marine parts and services knowledge is a must.
- Experience with Lightspeed EVO, preferred.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid boater's license
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions.
- Minimum of High School degree or equivalent.
- $18-$22 per hour. Base + Commission, based on experience.
