The Principal of Greenland Central School (Greenland, NH) provides visionary and instructional leadership for a school community serving students in kindergarten through eighth grade. The Principal ensures a high-quality educational program that supports academic achievement, fosters a positive and inclusive school culture, engages families and community partners, and maintains compliance with district and state standards. The Principal leads continuous improvement efforts that meet the unique needs of students and staff while upholding the mission and values of SAU 50.
QualificationsEducation & Certification
- Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field
- Valid New Hampshire Principal or School Administrator certification
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience (K-8 preferred)
- Demonstrated leadership experience in school or district-level roles
- Proven ability to supervise and evaluate instructional staff
- In-depth knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices
- Experience with data-informed decision-making to improve student outcomes
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering inclusive environments and equitable practices
- Ability to build relationships with students, families, staff, and community members
- Lead, develop, monitor, and evaluate instructional programs and practices aligned with state standards.
- Supervise and evaluate teachers and support staff in accordance with district procedures.
- Support professional learning and growth opportunities, promoting best instructional practices.
- Analyze student performance data to guide school improvement planning and instructional decisions.
- Foster a positive, inclusive climate conducive to whole-child development and academic success.
- Model and uphold high expectations for student behavior and academic effort.
- Promote social-emotional learning and well-being for students and staff.
- Recruit, hire, and retain effective educators and support personnel consistent with district goals.
- Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and performance support.
- Facilitate collaborative practices, including professional learning communities.
- Strengthen partnerships with families, community organizations, and stakeholders.
- Communicate regularly and transparently regarding school programs, events, and student progress.
- Represent the school at district and community events.
- Oversee daily school operations, including scheduling, budgeting, safety planning, and facilities coordination.
- Ensure implementation of policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead school safety and emergency preparedness initiatives.
- Lead development, implementation, and reporting on the School Improvement Plan.
- Monitor progress toward goals and adjust strategies in partnership with staff and district leadership.
- Provide regular reports and updates to the Superintendent and School Board.
