The classroom teacher is responsible for the direct instruction and academic growth of students that aligns with and supports the adopted "Vision of a Graduate." This role involves planning and implementing instruction aligned with curriculum standards, setting clear learning goals, and effectively communicating expectations, progress, and areas of concern to parents. The teacher monitors and assesses student performance, collaborates with specialists, parents, and administrators to develop individualized education plans, and creates a classroom environment that supports learning and student engagement.
Additionally, the teacher fosters students' self-esteem, motivation, and respect for learning while ensuring knowledge is accessible to all. This position requires adherence to professional practices in alignment with school and district policies, maintaining confidentiality, and collaborating with colleagues to support students' academic, emotional, and social development. Other responsibilities include managing the learning environment, identifying and addressing student needs, and performing assigned duties as required.

Instructional Skills- Organizes teaching strategies to maximize instructional time and enhance student learning.
- Prepares and implements effective lesson plans.
- Maintains a well-structured and supportive physical classroom environment.
- Assigns developmentally appropriate tasks aligned with student needs and abilities.
- Designs, delivers, and assesses instructional activities that align with state grade-level standards and competencies.
- Integrates a variety of technology tools and applications to support and enrich student achievement.
- Involves students in establishing classroom behavior expectations.
- Maintains positive classroom discipline while fostering an atmosphere that encourages productivity and strong work habits.
- Adapts teaching methods to reflect awareness of individual student differences and learning styles.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge and understanding of subject matter.
- Provides clear and comprehensive written lesson plans for substitute teachers.
- Works cooperatively and respectfully with colleagues, administrators, and staff.
- Responds promptly and accurately to administrative requests and responsibilities.

- Collaborates with the Building Administrator in the development of evaluation procedures, in accordance with district guidelines.
