Job Description

6th Grade ELA & Social Studies Teacher Windham SAU #95

Windham, NH

School Year

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic educator with a strong conceptual understanding of teaching social studies and ELA. The successful candidate should demonstrate a passion for creating engaging, student-centered learning environments while ensuring that instruction aligns with a standards-based reporting system. The role involves developing and delivering engaging lessons in social studies and ELA. Classroom instruction should incorporate both whole and small group instruction.

The educator will also design assessments and lessons aligned with standards-based reporting, while implementing Universal Design for Learning (UDL).

Collaboration with other teachers will be essential to create a cohesive learning experience for students through Professional Learning Communities. The successful candidate should be able to utilize technology effectively to enhance classroom instruction. Incorporating C3 Inquiry standards to foster critical thinking and problem‑solving is also an important aspect of this role. Additionally, the educator must demonstrate strong emotional intelligence and the ability to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications

State of NH Certification is required as outlined by the New Hampshire Department of Education.

Salary & Benefits

Per the WEA Collective Bargaining Agreement of the Windham Education Association.
