The School District of La Crosse is accepting applications for a Limited Term Contract 1.0 FTE Cross Categorical Special Education Teacher at Hintgen Elementary School for the remainder of the  school year. Projected

Qualifications

Wisconsin certification 1801 and/or 1810, 1811, or 1830 is required. Multiple certifications are preferred. We are looking for a collaborative cross categorical teacher to join our Hintgen special education team. Candidates must possess a special education license and have experience with Trauma Informed Care practices and collaborative problem solving. Preference is given to candidates who have teaching experience and who are familiar with Ross Greene and equitable approaches to ensure students needs are met.

Qualifications
  • Experience with autism and EBD programming is preferred.
  • Special concentration in Learning Disabilities and/or Emotional Behavioral Disabilities.
  • Experience and demonstrated skills in assessing, instructing, and programming for LD and EBD students.
  • Experience working with a team of regular and special educators to meet student needs.
  • Experience with developing behavior intervention plans.
  • Demonstrated skills in the use of assistive and adaptive technology to support student independence.
  • Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, CPR and First Aid.
Position Responsibilities
  • Instruction of students with learning disabilities and emotional behavioral disabilities including team teaching.
  • Management of all aspects of student program including functional behavior assessment, behavior plans, academic assessments, writing and implementing integrated IEPs, effectively consulting with staff and parents.
  • Ability to work as part of the IEP team to appropriately place students and monitor their progress.
  • Successful completion of a mandatory Job Specific Screen is required before employment.
