Special Education Teacher

Overview

North Country Education Services (NCES) is a non-profit regional educational service provider working with a consortium of New Hampshire school administrative units, including SAUs 3, 7, 9, 20, 23, 35, 36, 58, 68, 77, and 84. NCES focuses on supporting education and addressing the diverse needs of students and educators in the region and is seeking a Special Education Teacher to work full time at Heartwood Public Charter School in Jefferson, New Hampshire for the remainder of the  school year.

This is a full-time, on-site role located at the Heartwood Public Charter School in Jefferson, NH, for a Special Education Teacher. The Special Education Teacher will design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities. Responsibilities include delivering engaging and effective instruction, supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional growth, and collaborating with colleagues, support staff, and families to ensure student success.

The role involves assessing student progress, providing necessary accommodations, and fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

• Proficiency in teaching and developing instructional strategies for students, including middle school learners.
• Knowledge of Special Education practices, including creating and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Familiarity with working with students with diverse abilities and disabilities.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families.
• Valid Special Education teaching certification or eligibility for certification in New Hampshire.
