About RSEC Academy: The RSEC Academy is a small, innovative special education school serving students in grades 5 through 12. With a maximum capacity of 34 students, we pride ourselves on offering individualized, student-centered learning environments designed to foster academic success, social‑emotional growth, and independence. Our dedicated staff works collaboratively to create a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where every student can thrive.
Position Overview: RSEC Academy is seeking a certified Special Education Teacher to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator who is committed to meeting the diverse needs of students with learning, emotional, and behavioral challenges in a small school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students in grades 5–12
- Provide direct instruction in core academic subjects as well as transition, differentiated to meet individual student needs
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including counselors, speech‑language pathologists, and support staff
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
- Cultivate community partnerships to provide students with hands‑on work experiences and meaningful community engagement
- Communicate regularly with families and sending school districts
- Create a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom environment
Qualifications:
- Valid NH Certification in Special Education (or ability to obtain)
- Bachelor’s degree in special education or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Experience working with students with a range of disabilities including emotional/behavioral disorders, ADHD, and learning disabilities
- Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to collaboration, creativity, and student success
