Marketing Education Teacher

School Administrative Unit #9 Mt. Washington Valley Career & Technical Center – Conway, New Hampshire. The Center seeks a teacher for its Marketing Program. The successful candidate will provide opportunities for students interested in careers in marketing through a combination of classroom instruction and work‑based learning.

• New Hampshire Teacher certification in Marketing (3300‑1403) or Statement of Eligibility required.
• Demonstrated experience in the marketing industry.
• Demonstrated experience working with high school‑age students.
• Alternative qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Reports to: Dean of Student Programming and Career and Technical Education and Building Principal.

To develop in each pupil an insight and understanding of industry and its place in our society; to discover and develop talents of pupils in the technical fields; to develop practical problem‑solving skills related to the materials and processes of the industry; to develop in each pupil skill in the safe use of equipment.

• Teaches skills and knowledge in the area of Marketing, utilizing NH DOE CTE competencies and locally developed curriculum.
• Develops lesson plans and organizes class time to accomplish preparation, instruction, activity, and clean‑up within the allotted time.
• Guides students at appropriate work‑based learning opportunities.
• Guides pupils in selection of appropriate elective projects.
• Maintains a record of student attendance that can be audited and makes daily reports of students absent each period.
• Designs and uses assessment data to monitor progress of all students toward established standards, maintaining accurate records.
• Maintains control of storage and use of school‑owned property.
• Creates an environment of respect and rapport that establishes a culture of learning.
• Manages classroom procedures and student behavior.
• Communicates with students and their families.
• Collaborates with other educators within the school and across the district.
• Implements 504 and IEP accommodations and modifications.
• Actively participates within the professional community, growing professionally, reflecting on teaching and demonstrating professionalism.
• Recruits opportunities for extended learning opportunities for students, advises and assesses the outcomes of the opportunities.
• Advises the Marketing Career and Technical Student Organizations.
• Maintains an active advisory committee consisting of industry representatives, prior and current students.
• Keeps informed of the industry’s job entry requirements and instructs pupils in the rudiments of getting and retaining these jobs.
• Follows district policies and procedures.
• Completes other duties as assigned by the director.

In accordance with the Conway Education Association (CEA) contract.

187 day school year position.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Conway School Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel. The principal and/or administrative designee will be the evaluator.
