Job DescriptionStrong Foundations Charter School is seeking a fifth-grade language arts and social studies teacher. The role involves teaching math, science, language arts, social studies, and handwriting while incorporating Orton-Gillingham instruction and the Core Knowledge Curriculum. Mentorship is provided for new educators and the school offers paid training in Responsive Classroom and Orton-Gillingham, with professional development throughout the year.
Responsibilities- Design and implement lesson plans across core subjects.
- Integrate creative teaching methods such as hands‑on activities, group projects, and technology‑based learning tools.
- Establish clear classroom rules and expectations, fostering a respectful and positive atmosphere.
- Promote collaboration, teamwork, and constructive conflict resolution.
- Maintain student records, including attendance, achievements, and behavioral observations.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians through conferences, newsletters, and progress reports.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to share best practices and align teaching strategies.
- Engage with the school community to support extracurricular activities and events.
- Bachelor’s degree in education (preferred).
- Valid New Hampshire teaching license or appropriate elementary education certification.
- Strong knowledge of child development and pedagogy.
- Proficiency in communication, organization, and adaptability.
