Kingswood Academy, an alternative high school education program, is seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant to help support at-risk students.
Program SummaryKingswood Academy is an alternative education program designed to support at-risk students through personalized learning plans, real-world experiences, and strong community connections. The program empowers students to demonstrate their knowledge, build confidence, and develop a sense of belonging and purpose. Kingswood Academy serves high school students from diverse backgrounds and supports a wide range of academic abilities.
Responsibilities- Closely collaborate with program director and support teachers in delivering individualized instruction and implementing personalized learning plans
- Build positive, supportive relationships with students to foster engagement and trust
- Assist with classroom management and help maintain a structured, inclusive learning environment
- Provide academic support in both small group and one-on-one settings, across various content areas and grade levels
- Monitor student progress and communicate observations to teaching staff
- Help facilitate and assist with supervision during transitions, lunch, and other community activities
Previous experience working with at-risk students is preferred. Familiarity with trauma-informed practices is highly desirable.
