Preschool Para educator
Are you energetic, patient, and passionate about helping young minds grow? We are seeking a dedicated Preschool Para educator to join our early childhood team. In this role, you will work hand-in-hand with the Lead Teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and fun learning environment for children aged 3 to 5. From morning circle time to afternoon dismissal, you will play a vital role in helping our littlest learners develop social, emotional, and academic skills through play and structured activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Classroom Support:
Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans, managing classroom transitions, and setting up activities (arts and crafts, sensory play, story time). - Individualized Attention:
Work one-on-one or in small groups with students who need extra support reaching their developmental milestones. - Safety & Supervision:
Maintain a watchful eye on children during classroom time, recess, lunchtime, and bathroom breaks to ensure a safe environment. - Positive Behavioral Support:
Help guide children in developing social skills, sharing, and emotional regulation using positive reinforcement. - Daily Operations:
Assist with light classroom cleanup, organizing materials, and preparing the room for the next day's adventures.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience:
Previous experience working with young children (ages 3-5) in a daycare, preschool, or school setting is highly preferred. - Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required (Associate's degree or Child Development Associate (CDA) credential is a major plus). - Key Traits:
Infinite patience, a high level of energy, and a genuine love for early childhood development. - Skills:
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with the classroom teacher and staff. - Physical Requirements:
Ability to bend, kneel, sit on the floor, and lift up to 40 lbs to interact with children at their eye level.
