STEM Teacher

Milton Elementary School is seeking an innovative, student-centered educator to serve as our STEM Innovation Teacher. This position provides elementary students with engaging opportunities to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through hands-on learning experiences that foster creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving. The STEM Innovation Teacher will design and deliver engaging lessons and projects that introduce students to coding, robotics, engineering design, digital citizenship, computational thinking, and emerging technologies such as 3D printing.

Working with students across multiple grade levels, this educator will create a learning environment where curiosity is encouraged, innovation is celebrated, and students develop the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world. This position also serves as a key resource for supporting technology integration and digital learning initiatives within the school.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging STEM instruction for elementary students through hands-on, project-based learning experiences.
  • Develop lessons and activities that introduce students to coding, robotics, engineering design, computational thinking, digital literacy, and problem-solving.
  • Facilitate age-appropriate STEM projects that encourage creativity, collaboration, perseverance, and innovation.
  • Teach students to safely and effectively utilize educational technologies, including robotics platforms, coding applications, and 3D printers.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel empowered to explore, create, and take intellectual risks.
  • Support the development of students' digital citizenship skills and responsible use of technology.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate STEM concepts and technology into core academic content areas.
  • Manage and maintain STEM equipment, robotics resources, technology tools, and related instructional materials.
  • Utilize student performance data and formative assessments to inform instruction and support student growth.
  • Stay current with emerging educational technologies, instructional practices, and STEM education trends.
  • Participate actively in professional learning communities, district initiatives, and school improvement efforts.
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff regarding STEM learning opportunities and student progress.
  • Support school-wide efforts to promote innovation, creativity, and future-ready learning experiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid New Hampshire certification as a Library Media Specialist or Digital Learning Specialist.
  • Bachelor's degree in education, Educational Technology, Library Media, STEM Education, or a related field.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred.
  • Knowledge of elementary STEM education, project-based learning, and inquiry-based instructional practices.
  • Experience with coding platforms, robotics programs, and educational technology tools.
  • Familiarity with 3D printing and design software preferred.
  • Strong understanding of digital citizenship and technology integration best practices.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and support interdisciplinary learning experiences.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
  • Passion for inspiring young learners through creativity, exploration, and innovation.
