Job Description

Windham Middle School is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Special Education teacher to join our team. The Special Education teacher provides specialized instruction, case management, and support to students with disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). This position is responsible for coordinating services, collaborating with educators and families, and ensuring compliance with state and federal special education requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Co‑teach Math & ELA classes with content area teachers.
  • Provide supplementary instruction and support to students with disabilities as outlined in their IEPs.
  • Serve as the special education teacher for an assigned caseload of students with disabilities.
  • Coordinate the development, implementation, and review of IEPs in compliance with IDEA and NH state regulations.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to design and implement instructional modifications and accommodations that support student learning.
  • Collect, monitor, and analyze student performance data to inform instructional decisions and program adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide progress reports as required.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and other relevant meetings.
  • Collaborate with school staff, service providers, and administrators to ensure consistency of support and services.
  • Stay current on best practices in special education instruction, compliance, and case management.
