Job Description

The Oliverian School seeks a passionate educator who can provide learning support to a diverse range of students.
We are an alternative, college-preparatory boarding high school for bright adolescents who are struggling with challenges such as anxiety, depression, school avoidance, and learning differences. We help students embrace their unique identities, purpose, and voice so that they can contribute to any situation to find their place in the world. Our coaches are deeply invested in our community and must be comfortable managing professional boundaries while engaging students and parents in a variety of settings and roles.
They work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, coordinating and facilitating students’ skill‑building and growth.
- Assess learning needs for all students and work directly with students to support the development of executive functioning and learning skills, and serve as a resource to teachers/advisors to support the effectiveness of their work with students.
- Lead a CREW including academic advisors, a dorm parent, and other school staff to implement a structured program of student goal‑setting and integrated student support.
- Serve as coordinator with special education departments for school district funded students, supporting the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of IEPs.
- Aid in SAT Administration, including setting students up for the appropriate accommodations.
- Participate in the Residential Student Life rotation, serving as respite dorm parent every fourth weekend and one evening per week.
- Maintain excellent record‑keeping and communication regarding student progress.
- Serve as the team lead for up to 2 students, acting as the point of contact for parents, including a weekly phone call.
- Participate fully in all school‑wide events, including faculty and student orientations, family weekends, spring adventure day, graduation weekend, and several days of training at the end of each term.
- Knowledge and experience with a wide range of learning support needs.
- Knowledge and experience with student‑centered coaching.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience (preferred).
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
