Middle School Math Teacher for the school year
Unity Elementary School is looking for an experienced middle school math teacher to join a dynamic team that works to meet the needs of all learners. The successful candidate must be collaborative and flexible, have strong relationship building skills, and believe that every student can learn and thrive. The ideal candidate will provide quality, data-driven instruction to meet the needs of all learners, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively.
Job SummaryUnity Elementary is seeking energetic educators for the school year. The ideal candidate will be someone with a strong understanding of teaching middle school math. The candidate can work collaboratively on a team to promote and target student academic and social‑emotional achievement and growth. Strong professional skills and a team‑player attitude is a must. Unity Elementary School is home to over 100 students in grades PK‑8 in Unity NH.
Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree and hold a NH Mathematics, Middle Level teaching certification or Statement of Eligibility from applicable agency
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of child and adolescent development
- Knowledge of testing instruments and their application to the academic setting
- Knowledge of research‑based instructional interventions
- Ability to collaborate with professionals, parents, and community
- Awareness of applicable state Administrative Rules and Regulations
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students, and encourages mutual respect and effective learning.
- Plan lessons that employ a variety of instructional techniques that, when implemented, meet the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
- Utilize district curriculum goals and objectives to write comprehensive lesson plans designed to meet the learning needs of all students.
- Use a variety of audio, visual, manipulative, and technological materials and resources to support the district's curriculum.
- Understand how students learn and develop and provide opportunities that support their cognitive, linguistic, creative, social, moral, emotional, and physical development.
- Identify possible causes of student behavior and deal with the behavior constructively and according to School Board policy.
- Assess students for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding students' progress, expectations, goals, etc.
- Utilize data from standardized tests and a variety of formal and informal assessments to drive instruction.
- Maintain maximum supervision of assigned students at all times and encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
- Strive to implement by instruction and action the District's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
- Implement accommodations and modifications as listed on Individual Education Plan (IEP) and 504 plans.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administration regulation.
- Participate in various meetings (e.g. parent conferences, in‑service training, faculty meetings) for the purpose of receiving and/or providing information and/or meeting credential requirements.
- Participate in curriculum construction and revision and cooperate with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
- Contribute to the quality, positive culture, and effectiveness of the school and district by working individually and/or collaboratively with others.
- Maintain open lines of communication with parents in order to provide parents with information that will serve the best interests of students, and exercise discretion with information received from parents.
- Participate as a team member on special education Individual Education Plan (IEP) meeting team as requested and to implement individual education plans as required.
- Maintain state certification through approved professional development activities.
- Perform other duties and accept responsibilities as assigned.
