- Creates written instructional objectives for the course and for units in the course.
- Establish appropriate instructional goals and objectives for the class that are consistent with the school curriculum.
- Correlate learning activities with instructional objectives.
- Effectively integrate appropriate technology.
- Prepare and maintain written plans and modify them as necessary.
- Implement a behavior management program for students, assist students in learning and demonstrating responsible behavior.
- Respect confidentiality.
- Submit progress reports on each student in the formal education program with recommendations as to further development.
- Review and purchase appropriate instructional materials to meet individual needs to support curriculum.
- Utilize homework as a tool for the reinforcement of classroom instruction.
- Supervise or assist in field trips, recreational and other extracurricular programs for the benefit of the students.
- Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations and School Board Policies.
- Attend staff meetings and contribute to school committee and work groups.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Grade 6 Social Studies – Belmont Middle School
Job Requirements- Must hold NH Certification, Statement of Eligibility, or be eligible for NH Certification with an endorsement in Elementary Education (K-8), Social Studies 5-12, or Social Studies 5-8.
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university with a major study in education.
- Knowledge of basic education techniques and methods.
- Ability to work with all students, including those who possess educational disabilities.
- Must be able to work as a member of a team, as well as independently.
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
- Application must include current resume, college transcripts, 3 current letters of reference, and copy of certification or SOE.
- Successful completion of a post-offer, pre-employment criminal background check, including fingerprints, is required.
- Attendance at a new-hire orientation before the start of the school year is required.
- Bachelor degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
