Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a major in curriculum.
  • NH certification as a curriculum administrator (#0008) or proof of eligibility.
  • A combination of at least five (5) years of successful experience in teaching and/or school administration.
  • Proven ability to maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with educational technology.
  • Valid Driver's license.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the School Board's policy on Evaluation of Administrative Personnel.

Job Goal

The goal of this position is to assist the Senior Educational Official by providing the leadership necessary for curriculum, instruction & assessment to ensure the provision of best practices for educational opportunities for all students. This position guides the development of program goals, competencies, content and student learning outcomes and plays a major role in ensuring the quality of education in the classroom and on statewide performance assessments.

Performance

Responsibilities

Assist the Senior Educational Official in the administration and supervision of the district's educational programs.

Lead the planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of curriculum and instructional services across the district.

Participate in the selection and recommendation of the adoption of textbooks and supplementary instructional materials.

Build/maintain a three-year professional development plan for all staff in coordination with principals and directors.

Support the implementation of district-wide instructional curriculum by collaboratively working with building administrators, faculty and staff, and parents.

Establish a District wide curriculum development committee and a curriculum adoption process with rubrics.

Promote effective uses of technology in curriculum, instruction and professional development to achieve program goals and to enhance learning objectives for students.

Serve as the Test Coordinator for the district by coordinating district-wide research, student achievement data collection and analysis, including required State and Federal testing and programs, and evaluation of all data and testing results to measure the effectiveness of the curricular and instructional programs and consistency and diagnostic value of the testing.

Provide ongoing professional development and training by coordinating, designing, implementing, and evaluating district-wide in-service and professional learning programs.

Work with the Senior Educational Official, Business Administrator, and building administration to develop and coordinate those sections of the budget and grants that pertain to curriculum, instruction, and professional development, and manage the expenditure function of pertinent accounts and grants.

Pursue State, Federal and other funding sources and grants beyond the operating budget that support the improvement of the curricular, instructional and professional development programs.

Support new teachers and support staff through a structured mentoring program designed to foster their professional growth and seamless integration into the district.

Collaborate with the building principal and educator to support the development and implementation of site-based licensing plans required for teacher certification through the Department of Education.

Coordinate and supervise specific instructional programs such as Title 1 and ELL.

Advise the Senior Educational Official on all matters concerning state and federal regulations pertaining to civil rights, Title I, and FERPA regulations.

Report on educational matters at School Board meetings and at other public meetings at least once a year or when requested by the Senior Educational Official.

Maintain current professional knowledge of developments in curriculum, instruction and professional development through research, trend analysis, and other learning sources.

Supervise staff where appropriate, and contribute to the staffing decisions within the district when requested by the Senior Educational Official.

Adhere to Federal and State statutes, administrative rules and regulations, and School Board and District policies.

Support the creation and implementation of the district's professional development master plan in collaboration with the district professional development committee ensuring it meets state guidelines.

Participate in appropriate local, state, and national professional meetings as approved by the Senior Educational Official.
