Job Description

Gilford School District is seeking a Van Driver to join our school community for the 2026-27 school year. The ideal candidate will provide safe, reliable transportation, helping students safely access learning and activities throughout the school year.

Responsibilities include:

Transporting students safely to school buildings, career and technical centers, and potentially athletic events and field trips. Conducting vehicle inspections before and after trips, ensuring all safety and emergency equipment is fully functional. Assisting students with boarding and exiting, including the proper use of lifts, tie‑downs, and seat belts. Managing and supervising student behavior professionally to maintain a secure, positive, and supportive environment.

Essential Physical Abilities:

Ability to communicate clearly through speech and hearing to interact courteously with students, staff, and parents. Visual ability to operate vehicles safely under various weather, traffic, and road conditions. Manual dexterity and reflexes to perform daily vehicle inspections, clean the interior, and assist with basic maintenance. Physical mobility to assist students with special needs and operate safety equipment like wheelchair lifts and tie‑downs.

Sufficient stamina to sit for extended periods of driving and perform occasional lifting as required.

    Clean Driving Record
    4+ Years Safe Driving Experience
  • High School/Trade School degree preferred.
