Location: Meriden

Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment firm, is currently seeking a Learning Specialists starting in Fall 2026 at a boarding school in Meriden, New Hampshire.

Note: Boarding school positions may include on-campus housing and meals (room and board) depending on the role and school.

  • Tutor 10-12 students per week during the school day and after school hours.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group academic and executive functioning support.
  • Support students in organization, planning, task initiation, attention, emotional regulation, stress management, and self-advocacy.
  • Counsel families on evaluation results, learning needs, and testing accommodations.
  • Read, interpret, and summarize psycho educational evaluations.
  • Develop, communicate, and monitor Learning Support Plans (LSPs).
  • Collaborate with faculty through observations, consultation, and instructional support.
  • Coordinate communication among families, outside providers, and school personnel.
  • Participate in regular professional development activities to stay current with best practices and innovation in education.
  • Assist with residential life duties as needed, fostering a safe and supportive living environment for students.
  • Assist with supervising extracurricular activities and/or coaching school athletic teams.
Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in special education, school psychology, learning disabilities, or a related field required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in learning support or a related role for upper school students.
  • Strong understanding of learning differences, executive functioning, and evidence-based interventions.
  • Familiarity with IEP, 504, and accommodation practices.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Professionalism, flexibility, positivity, humor, initiative, and innovation.

Compensation and benefit packages are competitive but will differ by school and will typically depend on geographic location, your experience, and your level of degree.
