Job DescriptionWindham Woods School is seeking a qualified, enthusiastic Upper School Humanities Teacher to join our Upper School team. The position includes teaching English Language Arts and Social Studies courses to students in grades 9–12 with an emphasis on critical thinking, writing, executive function, and communication skills.

Responsibilities:
- Teach high school English Language Arts and Social Studies courses
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Build strong relationships with students and families
- Collaborate with colleagues to support student growth and program development
- Incorporate experiential and interdisciplinary learning opportunities into the curriculum
- Assess student progress and communicate effectively with families and staff

Job RequirementsQualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, History, Education, or a related field required
- Master’s degree preferred;
Special Education background strongly valued - Experience teaching high school English Language Arts and/or Social Studies preferred
- Strong content knowledge in literature, writing, and language instruction
- Teaching certification/licensure preferred; teaching experience strongly preferred
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
- Proven ability to engage and support diverse learners, with a strong emphasis on relationship-building
- Master degree preferred.
