The Lakes Region Technology Center has a full-time position open for a highly skilled, enthusiastic person to teach Construction Trades; which includes Residential Electricity, Residential Plumbing, H-VAC, Masonry, which also include Safety and General Contracting as well as Building Inspection, Site Management and their related job experiences. This position requires a dedicated instructor who seeks to assist our students successfully acquire necessary skills to enter the field.

The instructor works closely with our staff and community partners within their Career Clusters to ensure that students have a foundational level of competency in job related employability skills. Classroom presentations, computer literacy, student-built lab projects and industry visits all help to provide the educational opportunities for students to develop the necessary skill sets for careers in Construction Trades. The instructor is required to know the various current code requirements, develop interactive lessons, and successfully allocate both time and budget to ensure student success.

In addition, we expect the instructor to actively participate as an advisor in Career Technical Student Organization SkillsUSA for related Construction Trades. In general LRTC instructors are also expected to participate in e-College Programs as part of our CTE initiative for Industry Recognized Credentials (IRC) acquisition and career planning. Our programs are two-year competency-based programs with a Work Based Learning (WBL) option for a third year.

Our instructors work closely with career counselors to assist students in career planning and portfolio development to transition to work or further education beyond high school.

Applicants must be certified or able to obtain a Statement of Eligibility (SOE) by the NH Education Department as a Career Technology Education Construction Trades Instructor under CIP 46000 and should have at least 5 years experience working in the trades with supervisory experience for site development, management and crew supervision. OSHA 10 certification is required and OSHA 30 is highly recommended.

Lakes Region Technology Center provides an excellent, fully equipped lab with an appropriate budget. In addition, we have a staff of instructors and teaching assistants who are passionate about the importance of Career Technical Education who support each other as we work together to mentor our students.
