We are starting a restaurant-based learning program at Chick-fil-A Newington for students ages 14–18, with two ways in.
Homeschool students join our co-op.
Students at New Hampshire high schools can take part through their school's Extended Learning Opportunities (ELO) program, where learning outside the classroom can count toward credit. One program, two doors — and we are looking for the person who will build it.
Part of the day is core academics, guided by adaptive and AI-assisted tools that meet each student where they actually are. The other part is real, paid work in this restaurant, with a curriculum built on top of the work itself.
Why this role existsOur Operator is passionate about three things:
Chick-fil-A, education, and technology. He believes those three can come together into a program that does not exist anywhere else — one where a young person learns faster than a classroom allows and grows up inside a business that expects something of them.
What that idea needs now is someone whose whole attention is on the students: what they are learning, how they are actually doing, and whether the thing is working.
This is early. There is no first cohort yet and real questions are still open. We are hiring the person who helps answer them. If you need a finished program to step into, this is not it. If the blank page is the appealing part, we should talk.
The three parts of this jobEducation, restaurant operations, and AI. The person who does this well will be fluent in all three — not equally, but genuinely.
- Education. You choose the tools, set the mastery bar, build the daily rhythm and run the one-on-ones. You work closely with families, and — where a student's credit runs through their own high school — with the ELO coordinator and teacher of record there.
- Restaurant operations. You learn this restaurant from the inside and you work in it. The positions, how a shift actually runs, how food safety and food cost and labor behave, what hospitality looks like at the counter and in the drive-thru.
- AI. The academic side runs on AI-assisted tools, and this restaurant uses technology and AI extensively in how it is managed. We want someone curious and honest about both — where they move a student forward, and where they fall short.
The restaurant half is not a side duty. You cannot guide a student through work you have not done yourself, and the whole program rests on this person being someone the team respects on the floor. Showing up on time and being present for your shift is part of the curriculum, and it starts with you.
If you work in a school todayYou already know what an ELO can do for a student who learns best by doing. This role puts you on the other side of it: building the real-world experience teachers and ELO coordinators want to send students to, and working alongside those schools to make it count.
What you own- The academic block. Tools, mastery standards, and the daily rhythm students work inside.
- The work-side curriculum, built alongside our directors — how a business makes money, how to lead a shift, how to care for a guest who has had a bad experience, how to be someone a team can count on.
- The cohort itself. Goals, progress, one-on-ones, and the hard conversations.
- The relationships that make it real. Families, and the schools that grant the credit.
- What this becomes after the first cohort. You will have more to say about that than anyone.
- Someone who would rather build than inherit. There is no binder to follow. The first year is decisions, and the person who enjoys this job finds that energizing rather than unsettling.
- Someone who enjoys working with new technology. You do not need to arrive an…
