Manufacturing Engineer
Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer supports manufacturing operations by developing, evaluating, and improving processes, tooling, and equipment to enhance product quality, process capability, efficiency, and overall productivity. This role involves cross‑functional collaboration with Engineering, Quality, Suppliers, and Production teams to implement advanced manufacturing technologies and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with Parker’s Corporate WIN Strategy.
Essential Functions- Develop and implement robust manufacturing processes using Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Design and qualify assembly and test equipment, tooling, and fixtures to reduce variation and improve first‑pass yield.
- Conduct process analysis including workflow, equipment layout, and tooling to optimize productivity and reduce scrap, rework, and customer returns.
- Lead process FMEAs, root‑cause failure analysis, and measurement system analysis to drive quality improvements.
- Create and maintain process documentation, engineering change orders, and visual controls.
- Collaborate with suppliers for vendor selection, qualification, and process change implementation.
- Manage capital equipment projects from concept through implementation, including cost justification and vendor coordination.
- Mentor entry‑level engineers and support High‑Performance Teams to foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Support plant safety programs and promptly report unsafe conditions or incidents.
- Travel as required to support supplier or plant operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 3‑5 years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in high‑volume, precision parts manufacturing.
- Proficiency with CAD (Autodesk Inventor preferred), PLM systems (Vault preferred), and Microsoft Office.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands‑on skills and ability to work independently.
- Expertise in Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma tools, FMEA, DOE, SPC, and statistical analysis.
- Experience with process controls, gage R&R, and quality systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across departments.
- Basic knowledge of ladder logic for PLC Controls. (Preferred)
- Basic knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. (Preferred)
