Position Overview

Lower Tier Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS) Program Quality Engineer (PQE)

• Implement Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) per AS9145 and internal requirements.
• Standardize and maintain LTAMDS test defect data entry for streamlined analysis.
• Analyze test defect data to prioritize containment, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Develop and monitor major end‑item test performance metrics to sustain program health and drive continuous improvement.
• Conduct process walks and operator observations; lead stakeholder discussions to enhance process and design, reducing variation and improving predictability.
• Identify supplier escapes/issues and ensure proper containment and back‑flow with the Supplier Quality Management team.
• Ensure effective implementation of quality and mission assurance requirements across contracts within the Radar Integrated Product Team (IPT) and interface with U.S. and foreign customers, suppliers, and internal Raytheon quality teams.

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in electrical, mechanical, or system engineering, manufacturing & quality systems, or technical supplier management.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes (assembly, inspection, and/or test).
• Proven skill in root‑cause identification and corrective action implementation.
• Experience developing and using quality metrics for root‑cause analysis and quality verification.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance (Secret clearance required).

• Existing U.S. Secret (or higher) clearance.
• Experience with APQP/AS9145, including PPAP, Key Characteristics, DFMEA, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
• Direct customer interface experience and relationship building with program management, cross‑functional teams, suppliers, and government representatives.
• Facilitation of cross‑functional teams in systematic improvement activities (Six‑Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
• Experience with SAP/PRISM or other ERP tools.

• Competitive salary range: $86,800 – $165,200 (USD).
